FD's Grillhouse: A Diverse Dining Experience in Springfield, MO

FD’s Grill House was a surprise in the best way. The atmosphere felt upscale and urbane, especially compared to the very reasonable pricing. The waitstaff was professional and attentive, and the food was truly impressive. The chicken fingers were outstanding—crunchy, juicy, and packed with flavor. The firecracker shrimp were so good I considered ordering a second round. I initially ordered the Tilapia Alexander, which I didn’t enjoy this time, likely due to an off piece of fish. I’ve had it before and know it’s usually solid. I switched to the salmon and it was excellent, with perfectly seared edges and a moist, flaky interior. The asparagus was cooked perfectly. With entrées under $20, this place easily rivals restaurants that charge 2-3x times as much. I’ll definitely be back. Get the Firecracker Shrimp!

Hunter was our waiter it was for my birthday I had read this was a great place great service food and I must say they were right we got spinach dip and and spicy shrimp(can't think what it's called) but both appetizers were great and nice portions for 4 people to share we all got the trio with different things and everything was great the salad was very fresh candies walnuts and the house mades cornbread croutons and dressing mom so good we got in the trio fish chicken grill fried and crab stuffed shrimp salmon corn broccoli mash and baked potatoes they really do pay attention to details and we got the key lime pie excellent we will definitely come back when we are visiting Springfield or are close I ate half the pie before I got the picture so definitely doesn't do it justice the only problem i see is trying to decide what to choose to eat everything was so good

Quite a wonderful experience! Went for my birthday on the weekend and the place was quite busy! Luckily, we joined the waitlist when driving over so we had no wait to get a table. Service was very good, though we didn't receive any re-fills after we got our main food. The breading they used on both the Crispy Pickles and the chicken tenders was AMAZING! I would heavily recommend the pickle chips and the salmon - as well as the gumbo! Really nice atmosphere, it was calm and fancy inside - as well as very warm. Great bang for your buck, especially considering that it's right next to Texas Roadhouse.

TREMENDOUS!!! Ahem... sorry. Really great restaurant! We went for my mom's birthday. This place has an immaculate ambiance, and we had really great servers! The food is really, really good, and FD's prices are excellent (their most expensive item is a $20() NY steak)! I personally got a chicken tender-shrimp-salmon trio with their mashed potatoes (maybe the best ever) and corn. Oh, and their key lime pie is as good as they say (that cinnamon crust ). Please, like, just go now.

Service was fantastic! Never had to ask for anything. Waitress was on point and didn’t miss a beat! Food was delicious and personally better than Texas Roadhouse. Steak was perfectly cooked. 10/10 recommended

We came to FD’s to celebrate our anniversary, and overall, it did not disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious, the drinks were great, and our waiter, Ethan H., was AMAZING — attentive, friendly, and truly made our night special. Unfortunately, the experience started off rough at the hostess stand. What was quoted as a 30-minute wait turned into over an hour because the three girls working the stand claimed they had “lost” our name on the waitlist. The apology felt half-hearted and unclear. To make it more frustrating, we watched a group of young kids (who appeared to be friends of theirs) get seated in about 10 minutes. That said, I still love FD’s. We literally drove five hours and planned our route specifically to stop here, which should say a lot. I truly hope this was just an off moment, because the food and service beyond the hostess stand were excellent and exactly why we keep coming back.

This is one of those places where you can’t believe how incredibly reasonable the prices are for the quality of food and service you get. Honestly, the prices feel like they’re from 10 years ago. While in Springfield, MO last week, I stopped into FD’s Grillhouse — and it ended up being a fantastic experience. I was greeted immediately and seated in a booth, just as I requested. Within a couple of minutes my server arrived to take my drink order and appetizer. I went with the house side salad and the shrimp gumbo. After looking through the menu (and second-guessing myself with all the tempting options), I finally chose the Dijon Mushroom Chicken. The salad and gumbo came out quickly, and both looked and smelled amazing. That shrimp gumbo took me right back to Louisiana — honestly better than some of the gumbo I’ve had down there. Just as I finished my appetizer, my entrée arrived. The Dijon Mushroom Chicken was cooked perfectly, with a great little twang from the mustard glaze. I enjoyed it so much I almost ordered a second one. And the best part? My entire meal plus a Diet Coke came to just $21. You can’t beat that. FD’s Steakhouse is definitely going to be a regular stop for me whenever I’m in Springfield. Make sure you give them a visit if you’re in the area. Grub Score 8.7/10.0

The food, the service and busy-ness was great. My server was Bad Ass Ali. I enjoyed the FD Trio with shrimp, stuff shrimp and grilled salmon with green beans, baby carrots & coleslaw paired with a fuzzy navel (peach schnapps & orange juice). I ordered at cheeseburger and homemade key lime pie to go
